About The Book
In Mahogany is a powerful tale of love, legacy, and justice that spans continents and generations. It begins with a dying father’s desperate mission to secure a home for his children. Maggie embarks on a dangerous journey to claim her American citizenship and uncovers the truth about her father's past and the startling conspiracy that took his life. Aided by an American attorney, they make a discovery that threatens to expose the murder and mayhem carelessly flung across international borders.
Themes of political intrigue, personal sacrifice, identity, and belonging unfold as Maggie and Katharine confront legal barriers and long-buried secrets. Richly human and emotionally charged, this novel explores what it means to fight for a future worth having — and the price it may demand.
The beginning
High in the remote Honduran mountains, a dying man fights against time and despair. His mission is clear—secure a future for his three children before the darkness claims him. But what haunts him most isn’t death—it’s the terrible secret he’s uncovered, and the fear that his children will pay the price.
Fifteen years later, the youngest child is grown and longs to claim her American citizenship. Initiating this process, however, reveals a long-buried, deadly secret hidden away in a mountain forest.
Enter an American attorney, asked to help the girl. Caught up in the intriguing people and peculiar circumstances surrounding her, he discovers lives entwined by fate and shadowed secrets. What begins as a legal favor soon becomes a journey into identity, responsibility, and delayed justice.
